In 1979 architect Horace Gifford completely reconfigured this Park Avenue apartment, creating an iconic modern open-plan space inside the pre-war building. The new owner, an architect himself, wished to preserve and emphasize the architectural significance of the space by carefully restoring Gifford’s design, qualities and purpose, while introducing concise alterations to accommodate his needs.
